Pasture Rotation

Our butter begins with pasture-raised cows that enjoy the outdoors for an average of 200 days each year. During the grazing season, we prioritize the health of both our cows and the land by practicing rotational grazing. Cows are moved across multiple sections of nutrient-rich pasture, allowing each area time to recover and regrow. This careful rotation ensures that the cows always have fresh, delicious grass to graze on, while maintaining the long-term fertility and vitality of our pastures.

The Grazing Cycle

The dairy cows that provide milk for our butter enjoy a 90% grass-based diet, grazing on lush, nutrient-rich pastures. Our farmers carefully manage the land to ensure a continuous supply of fresh grass for the herd. Once a section of pasture has been grazed, it is fertilized with recycled manure collected from the cows themselves. Over time, with the help of sunlight and rain, the grass regenerates, ready to provide another round of fresh grazing. This closed-loop system supports both healthy cows and sustainable, fertile pastures.
